Comment moderation allows you to prevent comments from appearing on your site without your approval.
Jump to:
Enable comments
- Sign in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Mouse over Settings then select Discussion.

- On the Discussion Settings page under Default article settings, mark the checkbox next to Allow people to submit comments on new posts.

- Click the Save Changes button.

Note: To disable comments, unmark the checkbox next to Allow people to submit comments on new posts then click the Save Changes button.
Moderate comments
- Sign in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Select Comments.

- Mouse over the comment you wish to moderate. You will see these options:
- Approve - Approve the comment.
- Reply - Reply to the comment.
- Quick Edit - This option allows you to edit the comment while staying on the Comments page.
- Edit - This option will take you to the Edit Comment page to edit the comment.
- Spam - Mark the comment as spam.
- Trash - Delete the comment.

Note: To unapprove a comment, mouse over the comment options and click Unapprove.
