As a continuation of our rebranding and acquisition, we updated our domain name for hosting free websites (yahoosites.com) to align with our new Turbify branding. This change will impact customers with Website Builder Starter plans, Business Maker Free sites, and Website Builder Lite plans. If your site is currently published as a yahoosites.com subdomain (for example, mybusiness.yahoosites.com), this article is relevant to you. To determine which type of site you have and the potential impact on you, please review the next question.
To determine the type of free plan you have with Turbify, please visit your My Services page and log in with your login ID and password. If you have a Website Builder Starter or Website Builder Lite plan, you will be taken to the My Services page and see something like the following for your subscription. Please be sure the heading for your subscription says "Website Builder Starter" or "Website Builder Lite." If it is not either of those plan types, you are not impacted by these upcoming changes.
If visiting the My Services link takes you to a Dashboard instead of the page above, you have a Business Maker subscription. The screenshot below is the left menu for a Business Maker Free account.
Turbify had been offering Website Builder Starter plans to allow customers an easy way to get their business online for free and a way to try out our online site editor. While we will still offer a free builder through our Business Maker service, we no longer support the Website Builder Starter plans, effective April 30th, 2023. If you have a Website Builder Starter (free) plan, you will need to make alternative arrangements for your business site as these sites have been shut down.
After April 30th, 2023, Website Builder Starter sites are no longer live on the internet, and there are no longer options to download or back up the site assets.
Yes. We have paid hosting plans that your Website Builder-based site can be published to. Even better, they include a domain name and email as a part of the subscription. A customized domain name and email service on your domain are great for brand recognition and customer confidence.
For Website Builder Starter customers, we recommend signing up for a Web Hosting Basic plan here. Web Hosting Basic is our most economical full-featured plan. Once you have activated the service with a domain, go here to learn how to publish your existing site to the new service.
Your Business Maker Free plan will continue to work as usual, but the URL for your free site changed on June 20th, 2023. The URL for all published Business Maker Free sites has been updated to turbifysites.com (for example, your-site-here.turbifysites.com). This change is automatic. Please ensure you are updating your business listings and customers of your new site URL.
Your Website Builder Lite plan will continue to work as usual, but the URL for your free site changed on June 20th, 2023. The URL for all published Website Builder Lite sites has been updated to turbifysites.com (for example, your-site-here.turbifysites.com). This change is automatic. Please ensure you are updating your business listings and customers of your new site URL.
If you have a Website Builder Lite plan that is linked to a Web Hosting account and its domain, this URL change will not affect you. The primary domain for your site is the one associated with your Web Hosting account. Nothing will change there.
