There may be products which your store sells that you are not required to charge tax. Consult a business tax advisor or get information from your state's tax department to determine which products are taxable. To locate your state tax department's web site, visit the Federation of Tax Administrators.
By default, each time you create a product in the Store Editor or Catalog Manager, the taxable field is set to Yes. When set to Yes this item will be added to the taxable amount of the order. You can automatically exclude such items from tax charges by setting the Taxable field in the Store Editor or Catalog Manager to No.
Navigate to the item page then click Edit in the Editor toolbar.
Set the Taxable option to No.
Click the Update button.
Publish when ready.
If you upload items to your store using a database upload, you can also make this change by changing the records for items you wish to make non-taxable to No in the Taxable column.
Select the item(s) you wish to edit by clicking on the item ID.
Set the Taxable option to No.
Click the Save button.
Publish your catalog when ready.
Note: Turbify is unable to provide tax advice to merchants for determining your tax requirements based on your location(s) and products. Due to the financial and legal implications surrounding tax requirements, Turbify strongly recommends merchants consult a small business tax advisor for determining the exact tax rates applicable to your store.
