We have significantly improved Site Search for Merchant Solutions stores. Here is a list of changes to the interface and options.
Overview of changes
We've added additional fields to the indexing for search results. This means you will see more accurate matches based on the content of the Headline and Abstract fields.
When the Category filter is shown, the search results page now displays a flat list of your item categories. Before this change the shopper often had to select multiple filters to sort through results.
Search results are no longer served an HTML iframe, so CSS rules you have applied to your search results page may now apply to the results as well. Be sure to preview your site search settings before publishing them.
The following settings have been removed from the Site Search configuration page:
- Search Result Settings | Layout - Results will be displayed in grid view.
- Search Result Settings | Include quick look feature - This feature is no longer available.
- Search Result Settings | Use titlecase for brand names - Brand names will display exactly as they are entered for the item.
- Search Filter Settings | Filter location - Filters will be shown on the left side of the page.
