A hotlink is when a website owner embeds content from your website to their site and uses your bandwidth to serve the files. This can drain your bandwidth and make your website unavailable. You can prevent content embeds, usually image, video, and audio files, by enabling hotlink protection.
Important: Make sure to allow hotlinks for necessary domains, such as your website's subdomains and the URL to access your cPanel account. If not, you may not be able to see embedded images in the HTML Editor in the File Manager.
Click the WordPress Management link on the left toolbar. Note: WordPress Management is not available for the WordPress Essentials Hosting plan.
In the Dashboard section for the selected website, toggle on Enable hotlink protection.
Click the Options icon.
Add URLs in the Trusted domains section by clicking the Add one more link. Note: Your domain will list first as a trusted domain and cannot be removed.
Add file extensions in the Protected file extensions section by clicking the Add one more link.
Click the OK button.
Note: To go back to the original settings, click the Reset to default button. You can also remove file extensions or trusted domains by clicking the X next to the listed item.
