Search filters allow your customers to better refine their search results. These filters appear in a search filters (Narrow results) module on your search results page.
In the Search filter settings section of the Site Search Settings page, you may select where to display filters on the search results page (along the left side of the page, or along the top of the page), which filters to show, the number of selections to list for each filter, and the order in which the enabled filters appear in the filters module.
Brand filter - Can be set to list up to 20 brands (depending on the number of brands that are included among the search results for the search term). This filter is supported for Merchant Solutions accounts only.
Price filter - Can be set to list up to 5 price filters (e.g. under $10, $10-$25, $25-$40), and includes a price range filter for which shoppers can enter a custom price range. This filter is disabled by default for all new Merchant Solutions stores.
Category filter - Can be set to list up to 20 categories (depending on the number of categories that are included among the search results for the search term).
Filter sequence - The order in which the filters are listed in the Filter sequence field is the order in which the filters will appear in the filters module. To change the sequence of a filter, select the filter and use the up and down arrows to the right of the Filter sequence field to move it to your desired location.
Special notes about the Brand filter
The Search Filter Settings section of the Site Search Setting page lists a Brand filter that may be enabled for your search results page. This filter allows shoppers to view search results for specific brands only.
The Brand filter requires brand data to be present in Catalog Manager, and is supported for Merchant Solutions accounts when this information is present. Catalog Manager is not available for Store accounts. As this data is not available for Store accounts, the Brand filter is not supported for Store accounts.
If you have a Merchant Solutions account and are not using the brand attribute, you may add it in the shopping attributes using Catalog Manager, this attribute cannot be added using Store Editor.
