Please note that TXT records are advanced DNS settings and not appropriate for all domains. Learn more about TXT records and how they're used.
Any changes you make to your domain's TXT records will be live within 20-30 minutes. After that time, you can verify that your updates have successfully made with a tool like MX Toolbox. Please be advised you cannot set a TXT record for a hostname that already has a CNAME record. Be aware as well that Turbify cannot assist you with the formatting of your TXT records.
Note: For Website Builder plans, there won't be a Domains link in the Dashboard if there's no domain connected to your site.
TXT record size and limitations
- The maximum allowed size when creating a TXT record is 1000 characters. Records that exceed 450 characters will be split into blocks of up to 450 characters.
- When a large record is queried, each block will be returned as a separate TXT record on the hostname.
- When editing an existing record or block of a split record, the maximum size allowed is 450 characters. If needing to edit a single section of a larger record, it is recommended to delete the existing blocks and re-add the record with the edited content.
- When deleting a large record, each block needs to be deleted separately. Deleting one block will not delete the other blocks of the same split record.
