When a site visitor tries to view a page that you have deleted, they will typically encounter a generic 404 not found error. You can replace this message with friendlier directions to a new page. Note: A 404 error page will also appear if a visitor clicks a link to a site page which does not include the page's file extension. Learn more.
Create a custom error page
- From your Manage Site page, click Edit site or Site Design.

- Click the page name on the top-left.

- When the menu options open, select Manage.

- On the Manage Pages page, select NEW PAGE.

- There will be several page types to choose from. You may wish to select NEW BLANK PAGE. Select the page you wish to add by clicking the page thumbnail.

- In the Name your new page dialog, name the page e404 and click the Add page button.

- In the next dialog, which asks if you wish you add the page as a link to your site menu, select Later. Note: Since viewers will see 404 error pages if a page doesn't exist, you will not need to add the page to your site menu.

- If you chose a NEW BLANK PAGE, you will need to add a new Text Block section to add your custom Page can't be found message. Learn how to edit the default text.
- Once you've finished adding your custom Page can't be found message, remember to publish your site.
