After signing up for Website Design Service, you may have additional setup needed to take full advantage of your account. You have the option to contact support or set up your account yourself. Just follow the steps below to set up your account. If you have any questions or concerns about setting up your account, please contact support for assistance. After setting up your account, be sure to schedule a consultation with the design team. Learn more about getting started.
Once your account is active, an Administrator account will be automatically created for the Design Team. This allows them to sign in to your account as an Administrator with their own login ID and password. You as the account Owner will also receive an email confirming the admin invitation. Learn the differences between Owner and Administrator roles. The default expiration date for admin access is 6 months. You can update the expiration date at any time.
Set up your Website Design Service account
- Redelegate your domain (Only required if your domain is hosted elsewhere) - If your domain is hosted by another service--such as GoDaddy or Network Solutions--you will need to update the domain's name servers. This will connect your domain to your Website Design Service account. Sign in to your domain management page and change the name servers to ours. If you need assistance with changing the name servers, please contact the service which hosts the domain. Note: It can take up to 72 hours for the change to be recognized across the internet. The information in Steps 3 and 4 will not function properly until the domain name connects to your Website Design Service plan. Note: If you registered your domain with Turbify when you signed up for your Website Design Service plan, it will still take up to 72 hours for the new domain to be recognized across the internet. Learn more.
Important: The design team can begin working on your website before you redelegate your domain name. If you have a current website and/or business email associated with your domain name, you may wish to keep these active until you approve the new site design. This way, your current site and business email will still function until the domain has been redelegated and your new site published. - Activate an SSL certificate for your website - The next step is to enable your security certificate in SSL Manager. This will secure your domain and ensure to your site visitors that yours is a safe site to visit. Websites that are not secure have a Not secure warning in a web browser's address field. Learn more about SSL Manager.
- Set up your first business email address - Your new business email address will be on the Yahoo Mail platform. However, it will not be a Turbify address. Instead, it will have the format of anyname@widgetdesigns.com (replace widgetdesigns.com with your domain name). In addition, you can set up your business email on a desktop client and/or mobile device. Note: You can create up to 50 mailboxes in Website Design Service Standard and Premium plans.
- Start an inbound domain transfer (Optional) - If your domain name is already registered and is with another domain registrar--such as GoDaddy or Network Solutions--you can transfer your domain to Turbify. This means that you will be able to manage your domain name via your Turbify account rather than having to sign in to another service in order to do so. If you're not sure who your domain registrar is, you can look that up on a WHOIS. Important: Make sure to change the domain's name servers to ours before initiating the transfer. If you need assistance with changing the name servers, please contact the service which hosts the domain. Note: Only .com, .info, .net, .org, .biz, and .us domains are eligible for transfer at this time.
- Approve the ICANN required WHOIS information email - ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is a nonprofit corporation that is in charge of managing the rules and regulations regarding domain names. Per ICANN’s Registrar Accreditation Agreement, a domain registrant will be sent an email from time to time to verify the contact information on their domain registration. Note that this step may not be necessary at first if you redelegated your domain. Learn more.
