Copying content from one WordPress website to another is useful when you have a staging site and want to copy the files and database to the production website.

Important: During copying, the target website enters maintenance mode and becomes temporarily unavailable.

Note: If you are copying a staging site to production, the source location should be your staging site and the target location of the production website. To create a staging website, review the steps outlined here to clone your website. After cloning and when your website is ready for production, follow the steps below. If you already have a staging site, you can also copy the production website to a staging site with the steps below.

Copy a WordPress website to another

1. Sign in to your My Services page.
2. Click the Hosting link.
    

3. Click the WordPress Management link on the left toolbar. Note: WordPress Management is not available for the WordPress Essentials Hosting plan.   

   

4. Click the Copy Data link in the WordPress Toolkit dashboard for the website you want to copy. A modal opens to copy.
   
5. Select the Target location.
   
6. Select the Data to Copy. Note: Carefully read the tooltips next to each selection to determine the correct data to copy.
   
7. Select the Database Tables.
   
8. Restore is selected by default and is recommended in case you need to reverse the changes.
    
9. Click the Start button.
