If you are making changes to your website and want to temporarily hide it from visitors, you can turn on maintenance mode to display an information page until your updates are finished.
Click the WordPress Management link on the left toolbar. Note: WordPress Management is not available for the WordPress Essentials Hosting plan.
Toggle on Maintenance mode in the WordPress Management Dashboard for the selected website.
In the website screenshot, your website will immediately change from production to maintenance mode.
Click the Options icon to change the maintenance page text.
Scroll down to Screen Text to revise the default browser page title and text blocks. Note: You can also add social network links and a countdown timer and customize the maintenance page template.
Click the OK button to save the changes and the Preview button to view the changes.
Note: To prevent website admins from accessing the WordPress dashboard, toggle on Restrict access to WordPress admin dashboard.
