What is happening?
As part of our continued upgrades that we are making to our services, the time has come to retire our old name servers that we used with Yahoo. We will be moving to use our new name servers (ns1.turbify.com and ns2.turbify.com) moving forward.
Am I impacted?
If you are using Turbify services (business mail, web hosting, etc.) but you have not registered your domain with us, you will have actions you need to take with your domain registrar. To find out if your domain is registered through us, the easiest method is a WHOIS lookup.
For customers who have their domains registered with us and are using our recommended DNS settings*, there should be no actions to take, and we will update your name servers to our new ones automatically.
*To ensure the most reliable service, we recommend that you keep your name servers pointing to Turbify with other records pointing away if you are using additional service providers (such as using Google for your business mail provider).
What do I need to do?
If you are a customer who received an email from us bringing you here, we have identified that you need to update your name servers through your domain provider in order to keep your services with us working.
Please log into your domain service provider’s control panels and update your name servers from our old name servers (yns1.yahoo.com and yns2.yahoo.com) to our new name servers listed below:
- ns1.turbify.com
- ns2.turbify.com
When is the deadline to make the change?
Name servers need to be updated prior to February 10th, 2023, in order to prevent a potential interruption of your Turbify services.
What happens if I don’t update the name servers at my registrar in time?
Your services with Turbify may not function as expected or you may experience a service outage. It is important to make these changes early in order to ensure your services are not interrupted.
How can I find out where my domain is registered?
If you’re not sure where your domain is registered, we recommend performing a Whois search to determine the appropriate service provider to contact. Our registrar (Tucows), provides a Whois search which you can use here: https://tucowsdomains.com/whois-search/
There are a number of free WHOIS search tools, such as Tucows'. Just type in your domain name and press enter to see the results - your registrar will be displayed below your domain name:
/msdyn_blobfile/$value)
How do I update my name servers?
While the instructions will be different depending on where your domain is, we’ve compiled the right resource for some of the more common service providers. If your provider isn’t listed, we recommend contacting them to ask for guidance on changing name servers through their system.
Note: When changing DNS settings, it may take up to 72 hours for those changes to be propagated across the internet. If you are making these changes prior to the cutoff date of February 10th, you should not see any service interruptions as we will be keeping our old name servers active until then.
